If tranquillity were translated into a Mozambican recipe, Silvia's tips would certainly be among the ingredients. Silvia Liebaut is a hypnotherapist and coach in the Netherlands, and she left Mozambique at a tender age.
A native of Beira, Silvia Liebaut left before she turned 10. Her first destination was Portugal, as the aim was for her to finish her studies. Today she is in the Netherlands, and from there she tells us: “I always thought that learning to speak Dutch would be ‘impossible', but after 3 months of an intensive course and plenty of practice, I was already able to hold a conversation.”

By email, Silvia tells the Xonguila team that the main challenge of her work is dealing with some minds that are “closed” to forms of therapy other than conventional medicine. Having left the corporate world to become a therapist and coach, she came to understand better the challenges faced by those in leadership roles as they balance professional demands with mental health.

“Through the programmes I have developed, I am able to foster the development of directors, managers or teams, helping them find strategies to cope better with anxiety and to produce better results,” Silvia shares.

As she works in a constantly evolving field, Silvia Liebaut continually invests in training that will have an impact on the growth of her clients. Her need to learn is so real that she already speaks four languages – Portuguese, English, Spanish and Dutch – and is learning Italian. More recently, she took a step towards her goals by opening a new practice in Portugal, from where she offers consultations to any part of the world.
