The roar of the engines echoed among the mountains of Fuji and, amid the relentless speed of the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia, Rodrigo Almeida once again asserted himself as one of the protagonists of the season. On a Japanese circuit where he was competing for the first time, the Mozambican driver faced a demanding weekend, marked by intensity, adaptation and a constant fight for the top places.

In the fifth round of the championship, Rodrigo Almeida started from third place on the grid and finished the race in fourth, after a race fought to the limit. In the sixth round, he started from fifth and again crossed the finish line in fourth, securing precious points at a decisive stage of the competition.

Although he fell short of the result he had hoped for, the driver considered his performance at Fuji positive, stressing the importance of consistency in a long and highly competitive season.

“It was another weekend of hard racing in the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia, on a new track for me. It wasn't the perfect result, but it was a solid and important weekend for the championship. We remain second overall,” said Rodrigo Almeida.

The results achieved in Japan allow the Mozambican driver to consolidate second place in the overall standings, staying firmly in the hunt for the title of one of the most prestigious single-make competitions in Asian motorsport.

With the championship still far from decided, all eyes now turn to the next round, in Thailand, where Rodrigo Almeida intends to return to the direct fight for podium positions.

“Now the focus is totally on Thailand. There is still a lot of the championship ahead and we will fight for the title until the end. Thank you for believing in me. Let's do it together,” he added.

Rodrigo Almeida's career thus continues to strengthen Mozambique's presence in international motorsport, while confirming the steady growth of the young driver in an environment of great technical and competitive rigour.
