The city of Maputo is preparing to host another edition of the Mozambique Beer Expo on 24 October, an event that aims to turn beer culture into a meeting point for entertainment, gastronomy, knowledge and business opportunities. Following the positive results of the previous edition, the organisers are returning with new experiences and the ambition of strengthening the Mozambican capital’s position as a destination for major events.
Taking place at Repinga from 12 noon, the 2026 edition embraces a daytime celebration concept, reflecting an international trend towards outdoor experiences, relaxed settings and opportunities for socialising throughout the day.
The event offers much more than beer tasting. The programme includes a diverse range of food options, interactive activities, leisure areas and musical entertainment, encouraging visitors to arrive early, begin their experience with lunch and stay throughout the afternoon.
Among the main attractions are special beer tastings, an immersive journey into the world of beer, themed competitions known as beer games, interactive experiences and lounge areas. Musical entertainment will be provided by several DJs, with a particular highlight being a samba gathering featuring the group Cadê o Samba.
The programme, however, begins before the event opens to the general public. On 23 October, the JFS Corporate Tower, located in downtown Maputo, will host Industry Day, an initiative forming part of the Maputo Fast Forward Festival and dedicated to discussing the present and future of Mozambique’s brewing industry.
The gathering will bring together representatives of participating brands and companies for a panel discussion focusing on the challenges facing the sector, the potential for innovation and opportunities for growth in the Mozambican market. The initiative seeks to create a platform for dialogue among the various stakeholders in the value chain, bringing the business dimension closer to the event’s cultural and recreational activities.
Beyond entertainment, the Mozambique Beer Expo aims to establish itself as a platform for tourism promotion and economic development. The organisers believe that initiatives of this kind help raise Maputo’s profile as a destination for memorable experiences, stimulate commercial activity and create opportunities for a range of economic operators.
The importance attached to the brewing sector is also reflected in its contribution to the national economy. Maputo and the surrounding region are home to two major beer production facilities, which generate direct and indirect employment, support activity across various economic sectors and contribute to government tax revenues.
This year’s edition is a joint initiative by the Maputo Municipal Council, the National Agency for Tourism Development and Investment (ANDITUR), Xonguila Magazine, Malta do Vinho and the Connoisseur Prestige Club, with Arena Eventos responsible for production.
With expectations of surpassing the previous edition, the promoters aim to consolidate the Mozambique Beer Expo as a meeting place for industry, tourism, gastronomy and culture, demonstrating that the world of beer also encompasses innovation, knowledge and the sharing of experiences.
The programme is spread over two days: 23 October, dedicated to Industry Day at the JFS Corporate Tower in downtown Maputo, and 24 October, devoted to the exhibition and activities open to the public at Repinga, starting at 12 noon.
