The measure aims to ensure the timely registration of newborns and make it easier for them to start school

More than 200 health units across the country are already equipped with hospital civil registration posts, according to information from the Deputy National Director of Civil Registry and Notary Services.

The initiative aims to ensure the immediate registration of newborns, preventing late registration and the resulting difficulties that can affect children's access to education.

Fátima Baronete, the head of the sector, explained that, in addition to babies, the hospital civil registration posts will also serve minors who use the health units.

The statement was made during the opening ceremony of the hospital Civil Registry post at the Rapale Health Centre, in Nampula province, held last Monday.
