Millennium bim reinforces its commitment to promoting education and social inclusion by supporting, in the city of Beira, Sofala province, the project “Transformando a Rua num Espaço Educativo” (Turning the Street into an Educational Space), run by the Open University ISCED (UnISCED). The initiative's main aim is to identify, motivate and reintegrate adolescents and young people living on the street into the formal education system or vocational training programmes.
The project focuses on creating concrete opportunities that allow the social inclusion of these young people, promoting their autonomy and the full exercise of citizenship. For many, simple access to school materials is a decisive step in resuming their education and rebuilding their prospects for the future.
With this support, the bank aims to strengthen the learning process, ensuring conditions for beneficiaries to take an active part in school activities throughout the school year.
The Open University ISCED stressed the importance of this partnership, noting that Millennium bim's contribution is essential to ensuring that the young people covered have the resources they need to continue their studies and integrate effectively into the education system.
So far, the initiative has identified 64 young people living on the street, of whom 43 are enrolled for the 2026 school year, a significant advance in the process of social reintegration through education.
This project is part of the Corporate Social Responsibility programme “Mais Moçambique pra Mim”, through which Millennium bim carries out actions aimed at education, social inclusion and the sustainable development of communities.
