The Information Office (GABINFO) this morning opened a photographic exhibition entitled “Reencontro” in the city of Maputo, as part of the celebrations of World Photography Day. The exhibition, held under the motto "Photography: The Mark of History", aims to highlight the crucial role of photography in preserving Mozambique's historical memory. The opening ceremony was led by Emília Moiane, Director of GABINFO, and was attended by a number of professionals from the field. In addition to the exhibition, the event includes practical workshops and debates, offering a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience between photographers and the general public. The images on display narrate the country's journey, capturing significant moments that shaped its history. This initiative reinforces the importance of photography not only as art but also as an essential means of documenting and conserving cultural and historical heritage. The World Photography Day celebrations in Maputo thus provide a space to reflect on the impact of photography on Mozambican society, inviting everyone to rediscover and appreciate the power of images.
