The skies of Mozambique have just gained a new bridge to some of the country's most remote and stunning places. Air Gorongosa, formerly known as Safari Air, has begun a new phase of operations with the ambition of bringing travellers, investors and essential projects closer to the wild heart of Mozambique and the idyllic islands of the Indian Ocean.

From the vibrant capital Maputo to the untouched landscapes of Gorongosa, via Beira, Pemba and the Bazaruto Archipelago, the company positions itself as a strategic link between urban centres and destinations that are often inaccessible by conventional means.

Operating Cessna Grand Caravan and King Air 200 aircraft, equipped to cope with remote airstrips and demanding conditions, Air Gorongosa focuses on private charter flights, transfers to lodges and islands, as well as logistical support missions essential for conservation, business and medical assistance.

But the company's vision goes beyond air transport. Born out of the Gorongosa Restoration Project, the company also takes an active role in environmental preservation and social development. Its mission includes strengthening wildlife conservation, protecting natural landscapes, improving transport links and investing in community initiatives in different regions of the country.

“Air Gorongosa is more than aviation. It is about enabling access, opening up opportunities and supporting Mozambique's long-term future,” says the organisation.

In a country where many natural riches remain far from the major routes, Air Gorongosa aims to turn distance into opportunity, placing unique destinations within reach of those who seek to explore, invest in or protect Mozambique's natural heritage.
