In the district of Báruè, in Manica province, in central Mozambique, a group of approximately four thousand agricultural producers is benefiting from significant assistance in the form of agricultural inputs. This action is being carried out by a well-known agro-industrial company in the region, as reported by Rádio Moçambique (RM) this Monday, 8 January.

The assistance provided is not limited to the supply of inputs. It also covers the transport of agricultural products from the fields to the markets. The purpose of this effort is to ensure the continuity and growth of the production of maize flour, which is subsequently sold on the Mozambican domestic market.

According to statements by Jesus Sampaio, a representative of the agro-industrial company, this strategy has brought mutual benefits to both local producers and industry. There has been a significant increase in the production and quality of agricultural products, which in turn reinforces the sustainability and economic viability of the sector.

It is worth noting that, for the current year, the company has set a target of purchasing 26 thousand tonnes of maize. This figure exceeds the 18 thousand tonnes purchased the previous year. To reach this ambitious goal, production levels must be optimised and improved, thus guaranteeing a stable and continuous supply of the essential raw material for maize flour production.
The initiative comes at a crucial moment, when the need to strengthen local agricultural production is pressing, not only for the economy of the Manica region but also for the well-being and progress of its inhabitants, giving them more opportunities and a more prosperous future.
