Access Bank Mozambique is to launch a blood donation campaign in several provinces of the country, as part of the celebrations of World Blood Donor Day. The initiative, which is part of the bank's social responsibility activities and is carried out in partnership with the National Blood Bank, will run from 11 to 14 June. National Blood Bank teams will be present in Maputo, Beira, Chimoio, Tete, Nacala and Nampula.
Under the motto “Give Blood, Share Life”, the campaign aims to strengthen blood banks in hospitals and raise community awareness of the importance of blood donation in saving lives. Access Bank's managing director, Marco Abalroado, said the institution is committed to making a difference in people's lives. "Donating blood is an act of solidarity that saves lives, and we are proud to have collaborated with the National Blood Service on this initiative over the past four years. Our role goes beyond providing financial services; we are also committed to contributing to the well-being of the communities where we operate", he said.
He added that the initiative celebrates the strengthening of a network of support and solidarity, exemplifying how organisations and their staff can join forces for the common good. Access Bank Mozambique has promoted various initiatives that contribute to the development of the communities in which it operates, and the "Give Blood, Share Life" campaign is a demonstration of its commitment to improving the quality of life of the Mozambican population.
