Located on Avenida da Marginal, in Shopping Jardim Centenário, the restaurant Salt is one of the newest offerings in luxury and glamour in the Mozambican capital, and we are pleased to say that its founders have worked hard to refine its concept and menu. Seeking to create a truly unique and unforgettable dining experience, the focus is on capturing the essence of Mozambique’s rich culinary heritage and infusing the restaurant with something more intangible, something that can raise the dining experience to a new level.
The head chef, Mohamed Jawad, one of the co-founders, has been passionate about food since an early age. His passion for Italian cuisine in particular grew over time, as did the feeling that, at some point, he would like to create a restaurant that reflected what he had learned. With the help of the other co-founder, Youssef Chamas, he managed to turn his dream into reality, and together they worked tirelessly to create a refined space whose menu mixes international cuisine with an Italian touch, prepared with care and attention to detail to ensure that every dish is a masterpiece. The ingredients are fresh and sustainable, sourced locally whenever possible.
For Salt, creating a great dining experience does not mean merely serving good food. Hospitality and warmth are as important as what is on the plate.
