More than 150 women took part in the workshop “Businesswomen from Zero to 100” promoted by the Europe-Africa Association of Women Entrepreneurs, AMEEA, and partners in celebration of International Women's Day, celebrated on 8 March.
The aim of the event was to share skills and gather contemporary tools for the professional development and social self-assertion of businesswomen and aspiring entrepreneurs. The initiative set out to bring added value to society, encouraging women's self-development through entrepreneurship, and fitted within the global framework of the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals as regards gender equality.
AMEEA's representative in Mozambique, Anna Sousa, highlighted the importance of the event for gathering knowledge, boosting businesses, building strategic contacts and growing sustainably in the market. On the theme “Managing the personal and professional brand”, Lizete Manguezele emphasised that how a brand is capitalised says a great deal about the efforts made for it. According to Anna Sousa, anyone can be a brand, provided they discover their real role in a given field and the goal they wish to achieve in the market through the work they do.
Sheila Ibrahimo, for her part, addressed the theme “Digital marketing as an accelerator of the empowerment and positioning of Mozambican women”. The speaker highlighted the importance of strategically defining the type of content to be shared on social platforms so as to add value for the target audience. The session was attended by behavioural profile analyst Andrea Cabral, as well as various women entrepreneurs from fields such as catering, banking, communication, marketing and the textile sector, among others.
The event was an opportunity for all the participants to share knowledge and experiences and, in this way, to continue developing skills to grow in their professional careers and even in their personal lives. Through workshops and inspiring talks, participants were able to acquire new knowledge and skills, as well as connect with other women entrepreneurs and successful professionals. The event served as a reminder that entrepreneurship can be a powerful tool for the personal and professional development of women all over the world.
