Good management indicators, the capacity for innovation in creating and promoting new products and services, and a customer-centred strategy were the criteria for awarding the prize.
Millennium bim has been named Bank of the Year in Mozambique for the 15th time by the renowned international magazine The Banker, part of the Financial Times Group. With this distinction in the 2022 edition, the Bank consolidates its position as the country's most awarded financial institution. The award is based on a very rigorous analysis that takes into account management indicators, innovation in the creation and promotion of new products and services, and business strategy.
The strength of the balance sheet, the quality of the results, and the Bank's capacity for innovation, with very significant growth in digital services, were the reasons behind the award. The judges also highlighted the Bank's important contribution through its social responsibility programme. The The Banker awards are a comparative benchmark in international banking and demonstrate, once again, Millennium bim's capacity to respond to the challenges of the economy, promoting innovation and the development of the Mozambican financial system.
“This international recognition reflects the work carried out by all the Bank's employees in implementing a strategy geared towards individual and corporate customers, with a strong investment in closeness and in developing new product and service solutions that are relevant to our customers. It also reinforces the Bank's commitment to Mozambique, as an active agent in the country's economic and financial development,” stressed José Reino da Costa, Chairman of the Executive Committee of Millennium bim.
With this distinction, Millennium bim's position as the most awarded bank in Mozambique is now reinforced, notably with eight international nominations in 2022 alone, awarded by Euromoney, The Banker and Global Finance. The Bank's aim is to continue to provide a quality service to its individual and corporate customers and to maintain its solid, innovative and sustained expansion strategy.
