Millennium bim, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility programme “Mais Moçambique pra Mim”, promoted the “Sopa Solidária” (“Solidarity Soup”) initiative, a corporate volunteering action that mobilised Bank employees in the provinces of Cabo Delgado, Tete and Zambézia to support communities in situations of social vulnerability.
The initiative involved preparing and sharing meals with social institutions in Tete and Zambézia, as well as distributing food kits to elderly people in Cabo Delgado, supporting around 860 beneficiaries, including children, elderly people and others in situations of greater social fragility.
In Tete, the activity took place at the Rainha da Paz Shelter Centre. In Zambézia, the initiative was held at the Sinacura Open Centre. In Cabo Delgado, food kits were distributed to elderly people previously identified by Millennium bim's local teams.

More than an act of material support, “Sopa Solidária” sought to create moments of closeness and sharing between the Bank's employees and the beneficiary communities, promoting values of solidarity, social inclusion and active citizenship.

These are the words of Rui Pedro, Chairman of the Executive Committee of Millennium bim: “Volunteering is part of Millennium bim's culture and of the way our employees relate to the communities where they live and work. The Sopa Solidária initiative is an example of that willingness to devote time, energy and attention to those who need it most, promoting moments of sharing and closeness that go far beyond material support.”

The initiative had the voluntary participation of Millennium bim employees, who gave their time to this act of solidarity, helping to bring support and moments of sharing to hundreds of beneficiaries in the three provinces covered.

Through this initiative, Millennium bim combined volunteering with direct social support, promoting greater closeness between its employees and the beneficiary communities.

Millennium Master Control reveals new talent

Millennium bim has concluded the second edition of Millennium Master Control, a programme aimed at identifying and developing new talent in Risk, Audit and Compliance.
Launched publicly in November 2025, the programme received around 2,300 applications. After a selection process made up of different stages of technical, psychometric and behavioural assessment, 36 participants were selected for the final phase.

Organised into six multidisciplinary teams, the finalists were challenged to analyse and propose solutions for a practical case relating to account-opening and credit-granting processes, bringing together the perspectives of Risk, Compliance and Internal Audit.

Throughout the final phase, the participants benefited from training and mentoring sessions led by Millennium bim employees, before presenting the solutions they had developed to an evaluation panel made up of heads of the areas involved.

The Compliance Intelligence team took first place and was awarded a prize worth 120,000 meticais.

For Millennium bim's Chairman of the Executive Committee, Rui Pedro, the programme reflects the importance of bringing young people closer to the challenges and demands of the labour market and of creating the conditions for them to develop their skills.

“Mozambique has a generation of young people with talent, knowledge and the will to contribute to the country's future. Creating opportunities that bring these young people closer to the labour market, develop skills and provide contact with real challenges is essential to strengthen their employability. Millennium Master Control reflects that vision, by valuing merit and talent and by contributing to the preparation of professionals capable of meeting the demands of a constantly evolving financial sector”, said Rui Pedro.

Through Millennium Master Control, Millennium bim promotes skills development, the valuing of talent and a closer link between academic training and the concrete challenges of the financial sector, contributing to the preparation of professionals better equipped to meet the demands of a constantly evolving sector.
