Ricatla has once again become one of the main stages of the Mozambican economy, hosting the 61st edition of the Maputo International Fair (FACIM). Companies, institutions, investors, entrepreneurs and thousands of visitors brought the event to life, in a week marked by business, contacts, new opportunities and prospects for the future.
BCI took part in this dynamic with a presence geared towards closeness to customers and partners, the promotion of innovative solutions and support for the development of the national economy.
More than an exhibition space, the BCI stand established itself as a place for meeting and interaction. Throughout the Fair, customers, business people, partners and visitors had the opportunity to learn about the Bank's products and services, clear up queries and try out solutions that make banking simpler, faster and more convenient.
It was also there that innovation took on a practical, immediate dimension. Visitors could open an account entirely digitally and receive the corresponding card on the spot, a practical demonstration of BCI's commitment to simplifying and modernising the banking experience.
Demonstrations of the e-Daki channels, including eBanking, also made it possible to showcase different ways of carrying out banking transactions with greater autonomy, highlighting the role of technology in making financial services easier to access.
One of the standout moments came at the opening of the Fair, on 31 August, with the visit of the President of the Republic, Daniel Chapo, to the Bank's stand. Welcomed by BCI's Chairman of the Executive Committee, José Furtado, members of the Board and employees, the Head of State greeted the team and addressed words of encouragement to the institution.
As FACIM is, par excellence, a place for business and for promoting the country's economic potential, the presence of BCI's teams and members of the Board also made it possible to deepen contacts with business people, investors and partners, to learn about projects, understand needs and explore opportunities for financing, investment and cooperation.
It was in this atmosphere that BCI presented solutions geared towards business growth, with a focus on sectors such as agriculture and agribusiness, renewable energy and sustainability, reaffirming its readiness to support companies and entrepreneurs in their investment and expansion projects.
An approach in line with the theme of FACIM 2026: “Digital and Energy Transformation Towards a Sustainable Economy”.
The Bank's participation was also marked by moments of interaction and relaxation. Giveaways, parasols and lunch added to the lively atmosphere of the space, while the prize draw linked to signing up for and using products and services drew in visitors. On 5 September the three prizes were presented: 1st, a JBL PartyBox Club 130; 2nd, a JBL Xtreme 4; and 3rd, a JBL Charge 6.
In the end, a message remained that goes beyond the seven days of the Fair. In a context in which banking services are increasingly accessible through digital channels, closeness is still built through contact, listening and trust. Technology shortens distances; relationships give them meaning.
BCI thus closed its participation in FACIM 2026 with new contacts, opportunities identified and strengthened relationships, remaining close to those who start businesses, invest, work and build the country's future.
Because being at FACIM means being where Mozambique shows what it does, discovers new possibilities and projects new possibilities. And it is along this path that BCI wants to remain present: close to People and to business, building relationships of trust and providing solutions that keep pace with the transformation and the future of Mozambique.
