Malikarte is a company in the fashion and interior design field that has been legally registered in the Mozambican market for roughly 5 years. Its owner, Teresa Viana Timba, is a young cultural manager, dreamer and creative, aged 31, originally from Nampula province. She is the mother of 2 girls, Malika and Malaika, from whom the company's name derives. Her current team is made up of 3 people: herself, an accountant and a digital platforms manager. The products, exclusive and handmade, range, among other things, from decorative home accessories and flower arrangements to shoe and handbag upholstery, and are sought after by Mozambicans and foreigners who appreciate art and local products.
Forced to think outside the box in developing its work and the ways of carrying it out effectively, Malikarte saw the pandemic as a highly challenging time, which led it to recreate its work processes. At the moment it is present only on online platforms, but in the near future it also intends to have a physical space available so as to serve its customers better, grow professionally and spread its brand and services more widely.
