Over the first half of 2023, the company achieved 28% female representation in its senior management, a figure that rises to 30% in Mozambique, reflecting the local commitment to promoting gender equity. This progress underlines HEINEKEN's commitment, both globally and locally, to fostering a working environment where diversity is celebrated, highlighting the crucial role of women in the company's structure for a more inclusive culture and sustainable success.
To combat gender stereotypes, HEINEKEN implements recruitment and promotion policies based on merit and free from gender bias. At the same time, it develops diversity and inclusion programmes, as well as organising training sessions and workshops that promote awareness of gender diversity and the prevention of unconscious bias. The promotion of female leadership and the creation of an inclusive organisational culture that values and respects gender diversity are other fundamental measures. In addition, the company is committed to women's professional development through its Inclusive Leadership Training programme. This programme achieved significant uptake, especially in Mozambique, where 100% of managers completed the training.

As regards safety in the workplace, zero-tolerance policies on harassment and discrimination have been implemented. In addition, the company offers awareness and prevention training, and has established reporting and support channels, such as the "Speak Up" system, which ensures the necessary support for victims of any incident.
HEINEKEN's corporate social responsibility strategy proactively focuses on gender issues, ensuring that all partners share the same values of equality, inclusion and female empowerment, thus aligning with the broader principles of sustainability and social responsibility.
The success story of Adelaide Muthemba
Adelaide joined HEINEKEN Mozambique six years ago, as laboratory manager. She recruited and developed a team of enthusiastic young people at the start of the company's operations. In 2021, she was promoted to production manager, leading a team of professionals who produce TXILAR, one of Mozambique's best beers. As a woman, she faced the challenge of balancing family life with a demanding job. Adelaide has always found it natural to lead predominantly male teams. Her commitment, focus and determination were key to her success, with the support of her family and inspiring professionals along the way. Adelaide believes that being a Mozambican woman means being strong, capable and resilient, and she wishes to inspire other Mozambican women with her story.
On Mozambican Women's Day, an event was held dedicated to all Heineken's female employees, providing a space for sharing experiences and discussing female empowerment. The activities also included face painting with mussiro and a performance by the Tufo da Mafalala dance group, made up exclusively of women, who used dance to express their pride in being Mozambican Women.
