CK Café
CK Café is a nature-inspired restaurant set outdoors, in a shaded garden of tropical plants, at no. 225 Rua Fernão Lopes, in the city of Maputo.
The restaurant opened more or less by chance. At the time, Clémence, the owner and manager, was a nutritionist and had written books with light, healthy recipes to help her female clients lose weight. One day, the owner of the business centre where the restaurant is now located, who already followed her work on social media, contacted her to form a partnership and embark on the project together.
The offering is wide-ranging, from romantic menus or surprise breakfasts to wedding banquets, including personalised cocktails and birthdays with a variety of canapés
At the start, CK Café had only 7 tables but, over time, it grew to 12, and today it has 16. They believe they are successful because of the quality of their services, the relationship they maintain with customers and their food, which is different from other restaurants operating in the market. They specialise in healthy, light, fresh and natural food, with recipes thought out down to the last detail by Clémence, always taking care to use fresh, quality, regional produce.
CK Café seeks to give customers an excellent experience on every level, so that they feel comfortable and come back. Besides the restaurant, it provides takeaway and gourmet food catering services. The offering is wide-ranging, from romantic menus or surprise breakfasts to wedding banquets, including personalised cocktails and birthdays with a variety of canapés. They use social media as their main means of advertising and communication.
Because the dishes at CK Café are so visually appealing, customers regularly post photos of the food on their personal networks, which helps the restaurant gain visibility on digital channels. They are truly satisfied with the results achieved so far; however, for the future, they would like a larger space, with an indoor, air-conditioned area to welcome customers on hotter or rainy days.
