Mozambican agency GOLO is closing 2026 with one of the most impressive records in its history. More than 70 awards, over 15 award-winning campaigns and four institutional accolades earned in Mozambique, Angola and Portugal mark a year of outstanding achievements ahead of its 70th anniversary celebrations, scheduled for May 2027.

International recognition was particularly significant at the Lusophone Creativity Awards, held in Portugal, where GOLO was named Agency of the Year. The accolade recognised work developed for a range of brands and institutions, including BCI, Txilar, Compal, Hyundai, BMW, Mazda, Vumba, the Red Cross and Maputo National Park.

Among the award-winning campaigns, “Surf For Life” stood out, securing a Grand Prix, a Gold and a Silver award. Meanwhile, “Peace Is Where Nature Meets”, created for Maputo National Park, won a Gold award, further strengthening the agency’s presence among the projects recognised for their creativity and quality of execution.

The string of successes extended to Angola. On 23 October, in Luanda, GOLO once again took centre stage at FESTIPUB Angola 2026, securing three titles: Agency of the Year, Media Agency of the Year and Digital Agency of the Year for Mozambique.

At the same competition, several campaigns developed by the agency received accolades. “Lugares Daqui” (Places From Here), created for BCI, was named Mozambique’s Campaign of the Year, while “Desce Numa Boa”, by Txilar, “Natural de Moçambique” (Naturally Mozambican), by Vumba, and “Gigi”, by Compal, were also among the award-winning entries.

Recognition also extended to the brands themselves, with Txilar winning the title of Mozambique’s Brand of the Year, adding another distinction to the agency’s performance at the festival.

On home soil, the results followed a similar trajectory. At the COMARP Awards, GOLO received the Best Marketing Agency award, while PMR Africa recognised it as Best Agency in the advertising, marketing and innovation categories.

Taken together, these accolades reinforce GOLO’s position as the most awarded agency in the Mozambican market, according to the company’s own performance report.

Beyond the number of trophies won, GOLO’s performance in 2026 highlights the breadth of disciplines in which the agency has produced award-winning work. The distinctions spanned advertising, creative strategy, audiovisual production, institutional communications, social media and innovation, involving brands from a wide range of sectors.

Founded in 1957, GOLO is now approaching a historic milestone. In May 2027, the agency will celebrate 70 years in business, marking a journey that has spanned generations and witnessed significant transformations in Mozambique’s advertising industry.

Preparations for the anniversary celebrations are therefore taking shape at a particularly significant moment for the company, which approaches its seventh decade following a year marked by more than 70 awards and recognition for its work across three countries.

With its achievements in 2026, GOLO closes another chapter in its history and prepares to celebrate its 70th anniversary following one of its most successful years in terms of awards since its foundation.
