At the beginning of September, Martha Humbane was appointed Director of Retail and Business Banking at Absa Moçambique, an appointment that comes at a time when the Bank is reaffirming its position as a partner to national Small and Medium-sized Enterprises
In recent times, we have been living in a context in which the economy rests more and more on SMEs, especially because of their capacity to create jobs, generate income and their great flexibility as an instrument for putting entrepreneurial and innovative capacity into practice.

Aware of the enormous socio-economic challenges SMEs face, Absa Bank Moçambique has launched a new communication campaign aimed at business customers, with the aim of publicising its range of products and services and highlighting the Bank's ability to serve this segment with solutions that make a difference.

This campaign illustrates Absa's full commitment to supporting the recovery of the economy and its confidence in the capacity and resilience of companies and entrepreneurs.” – Martha Humbane, Director of Retail and Business Banking at Absa Moçambique

The newly appointed Martha Humbane tells us, in her own words, the details of this new project of the Bank:

“This campaign illustrates Absa's full commitment to supporting the recovery of the economy and its confidence in the capacity and resilience of companies and entrepreneurs. Given the current macroeconomic scenario, we also wanted to show, in this way, that we are close to our current and potential business customers, that we understand the needs of their business and that we are prepared to support them with a set of innovative solutions tailored to them, placing at their service more than 40 years of experience in the business segment,” says Martha Humbane.

In practice, this campaign is intended for all Mozambican companies looking for a bank that is not just a service provider but, above all, a business partner. With a primary focus on companies with fewer than 500 employees, the campaign encourages the use of Absa Bank Moçambique's digital channels and all the services the Bank makes available to drive each business. The campaign and the solutions it offers were designed on the basis of fieldwork, from those who make things happen, giving a 360º view of the segment's real needs and creating the right solutions so that these companies can take a step forward, consolidating their business, expanding it and creating new opportunities in a consistent way.

“As well as standing alongside the companies that are already part of Absa's DNA, now more than ever the Bank is also standing alongside small and medium-sized businesses, supporting them so that they can innovate, reinvent and turn challenges into opportunities, and driving them so that, with our support, they rise to the next level,” concludes Martha Humbane.

In short, with this campaign, Absa Moçambique reaffirms its closeness, joining the voice of its customers to its own. Beyond the traditional offering of banking products and services, the Bank seeks to contribute to empowerment, robustness, professionalisation, exposure and access to new markets, creating sustainable partnerships and providing access to training and certification, ensuring these Small and Medium-sized Enterprises are equipped for an increasingly globalised market.
