United Bank for Africa (UBA) celebrated the graduation of around 400 young participants in its Graduate Programme, an initiative designed to prepare a new generation of professionals for the challenges of the financial sector and the labour market.
The ceremony marked the completion of an important stage in the training and professional development of the young graduates who, over the course of the programme, had the opportunity to strengthen their technical, professional and behavioural skills, getting closer to the reality of the banking and business sector. Among the graduates, young Mozambicans stood out for their high level of dedication, performance and potential, reinforcing UBA's commitment to developing young African talent.

For the Managing Director of UBA Mozambique, Pedro Maranguene, investing in young people is a fundamental part of the Bank's sustainable development strategy. “At UBA, we believe that young talent is one of the greatest forces for transforming Africa's future. The graduation of these young people shows that, when we create opportunities and provide the right tools, we are preparing professionals capable of making an impact in their communities, in the organisations and in the economies where they operate.” Pedro Maranguene also highlighted the performance of the young Mozambicans, stressing that their participation shows the potential that exists in the country. “We are particularly proud of the young Mozambicans who stood out along this journey. Their performance is a source of pride and shows that Mozambique has a generation prepared to take on ever greater responsibilities in the financial sector and in the country's economic development.”

Training, talent and career development
UBA Mozambique's Human Resources Director, Millaw Uaila, stressed the importance of the programme in preparing young people for a successful professional career. “The Graduate Programme goes far beyond technical training. We seek to develop well-rounded professionals, with leadership skills, critical thinking, ethics, collaboration and a results orientation. Seeing around 400 young people complete this stage is a demonstration of the impact we can achieve when we invest in talent in a structured way.” According to Millaw Uaila, the participants' performance, including that of the young Mozambicans, shows the importance of continuing to create spaces for learning and professional growth for young people. “To our graduates, we leave a simple message: this graduation is not the end but the beginning of a new stage. We hope they take with them the knowledge they have gained, but also the responsibility to keep learning, innovating and contributing to the development of their communities and of Africa.”
The graduation of the around 400 young people reaffirms UBA's commitment to developing talent, including young people and building skills, helping to create a workforce better prepared to respond to the transformations in the financial sector. The programme also represents an opportunity to bring young talents closer to the realities and opportunities that exist in the banking sector, promoting a culture of excellence, innovation and leadership. For the young Mozambicans who stood out, this experience is an important platform for developing their careers and for greater participation in building the country's economic future. UBA Mozambique will continue to invest in initiatives that promote the development of human capital and create opportunities for young Africans to turn their potential into impact.
