2 and 3 December were a landmark in the motoring history of Mozambique. The ATCM (Automóvel & Touring Clube de Moçambique) track was transformed into the stage for the Toyota Festival by CFAO, an event where enthusiasts and admirers of the Toyota brand experienced moments that will remain etched in the memory, at a gathering where adrenaline was the watchword.
CFAO Motors Mozambique, as Toyota's representative and exclusive distributor in the country, treated those present to impeccable organisation, which showcased the excellence and innovation of the Japanese brand. This unique event brought together a range of vehicles from the Toyota Gazoo Racing line – the sporting machines in which the pulse of major competitions can be felt in the hands of those who drive them.

One of the highlights of the festival was the presence, for the first time on Mozambican soil, of the GR DKR Hilux T1+, the winning machine of the Dakar Rally and the World Rally-Raid Championship. This icon of performance and endurance in the off-road world was a spectacular sight for aficionados, marking an unforgettable milestone in the country's motoring history.

Rally passion had its moment with Guy Botterill at the wheel of the Toyota GR Starlet Rally. The seven-time South African national Rally champion showed his mastery, giving the public a thrilling demonstration of skill and precision. His presence was a foretaste of his participation in the 2024 Dakar Rally, where he will represent the official Toyota Gazoo Racing team.

In addition to the exciting demonstrations, the “hot laps” in the GR Supra and GR FT-86 models fired up the enthusiasts. The lucky ones who signed up to ride along as passengers had the unique opportunity to feel the adrenaline and the performance of these high-powered machines.

But the Toyota Festival by CFAO was more than an event for speed lovers. It was a celebration for the whole family. With areas dedicated to children, a playground full of fun and 3D animation games for youngsters, the event knew how to combine a passion for cars with family time. A food area was also available, allowing visitors to “refuel” after the excitement on the track.

The Toyota Festival by CFAO was a festival of entertainment and excitement, a unique experience that will undoubtedly stay in the memory of everyone who had the privilege of taking part in this memorable gathering.
“As organisers of the Toyota Festival by CFAO, we feel deeply gratified by the resounding success of the event. The passion and enthusiasm we witnessed from participants exceeded our expectations. We are convinced that we have managed to create a memorable experience in Mozambique that truly reflects the spirit and excellence of the Toyota brand.” – Henrique Bettencourt, Managing Director of CFAO Motors Group in Mozambique, told us.
