The second edition of Oficina do Futuro took place on 26 May at the Vodacom Mozambique headquarters, bringing together communication professionals, institutional representatives, students, experts and different players in the Mozambican digital ecosystem for an afternoon of reflection and sharing on the challenges of communication in today's digital context.
Promoted by Revista Xonguila, with the support of UBA and Vodacom Mozambique, this edition had as its central theme “Information, influence and transformation: communicating in a digital world”, putting up for debate issues related to the credibility of information, digital influence, artificial intelligence, reputation and responsibility in the online space.
The programme included the panel “The new territory of information”, moderated by Marie Anaïs, Communications Manager at Girl Move Academy, and which brought together Riaz Jassat, Marketing Director at Vodacom Mozambique, Mirza Jamal, Corporate Communications Specialist and Business Development Director at Vantagem+, and Silaide Mutemba, Communications and Advocacy Officer at MISA.
The programme also included the sessions “Metrics, data and the new value of communication”, led by Jaime Fernandes, Country Manager at Ipsos, and “The legal challenges of online exposure”, presented by Joaquim Gaspar, Legal Director at UBA, addressing topics linked to data-driven communication, reputation, digital exposure and online responsibility.
One of the standout moments of the afternoon was the official launch of Projecto Kibo, a complementary teaching model geared towards developing the practical, creative and digital skills needed in today's world, skills that are fundamental to children's future and to Mozambique's development.
Oficina do Futuro thus continues to establish itself as a platform for reflection, debate and knowledge sharing on the issues that are transforming society, communication and the future of the country.
