More than 600 professionals, business people, academics, students and representatives of institutions gathered on 17 September at the Hotel Glória, in Maputo, for the 4th edition of the COMARP Forum, a meeting devoted to Communication, Marketing and Public Relations and their role in Mozambique's development.
Under the theme "Communication and Marketing as Allies for the Country's Economic Development", the Forum brought together different professionals and institutions in a space for meeting, reflection and exchange of experiences on the present and future of the sector.
Communication under debate
The opening featured a welcome from Edson Rufai, founder of COMARP, followed by addresses from Jónia Presado, President of the Mozambican Communication and Marketing Association (ACM), the representative of the Secretary of State for Maputo City, Hélio Milisse, and the Secretary of State for Tourism, Fredson Bacar.
Over the afternoon, the programme included two discussion panels: "Communication for Development: How to bring major economic projects closer to communities" and "Brand Mozambique: Communication and Marketing to attract Investment, Tourism and Business".
A dictionary for the sector
Another highlight of the edition was the launch of the book "Dicionário Moçambicano de Relações Públicas", by Leandro Paul. The work was presented during the Forum and copies were made available to participants.
Recognising those who stand out
The closing was reserved for the COMARP Awards 2026, a moment devoted to recognising professionals, companies, agencies, institutions and campaigns that stood out in the fields of Communication, Marketing and Public Relations.
The ceremony included individual and corporate awards, as well as the Career and Legacy Awards, recognising both the work carried out over the past year and careers and contributions of importance to the sector.
A growing industry
Through debates, meetings, knowledge-sharing and recognition of the work done in the market, the 4th edition of the COMARP Forum once again brought together different generations and key figures of a growing industry.
More than a meeting of professionals, the Forum also showed the standing that Communication and Marketing have been gaining in Mozambique and the place these fields now occupy in promoting companies, institutions, projects and the country itself.
