As part of the 14th edition of Global Money Week, which ran from 16 to 22 March 2026 under the theme “Smart Money Talks”, Millennium bim marked the occasion with a financial education initiative aimed at secondary school pupils in the city of Inhambane.
The activity consisted of a study visit to the Millennium bim branch, with the participation of pupils from the 4 de Outubro Secondary School, aged between 12 and 17.

During the visit, the students had the opportunity to learn in a practical way how a bank works, and to take part in an interactive session on the importance of saving, responsible money management and making informed financial decisions.

The initiative was led by Bank employees, who encouraged moments of sharing and clarification, bringing young people closer to the financial system and encouraging a more informed and responsible relationship with money.

According to Humberto Nhamucho, Millennium bim's Commercial Director in Inhambane Province, “Promoting financial literacy among young people is an essential pillar in building a society that is better informed and prepared for the economic challenges of the future. Initiatives like this bring the Bank closer to communities and actively contribute to developing financial skills from an early age.”

Promoted internationally by Child & Youth Finance International, Global Money Week mobilises public and private institutions and civil society organisations in many countries every year, with the aim of encouraging children and young people to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes that will allow them to build a more aware and responsible financial future.

Promoting financial literacy among young people is one of the ways in which Millennium bim helps equip the new generations with the essential tools and knowledge for more informed financial management throughout their lives.
