As part of the celebrations of International Children's Day, Millennium bim promoted, nationwide, a set of initiatives aimed at children, reinforcing its commitment to social inclusion, well-being and the valuing of childhood.
The celebrations included activities for the children of the Bank's employees, through moments of socialising, leisure and entertainment in various places in Mozambique, providing experiences of celebration and sharing in a family setting.
At the same time, as part of the “Mais Moçambique pra Mim” Social Responsibility programme, the Bank supported initiatives for children in situations of social vulnerability, through actions carried out in different regions of the country.
Among the initiatives carried out, noteworthy are the support given to celebrations organised by social institutions, public bodies and hospital units in central, northern and southern Mozambique, aimed at children living in support centres, disadvantaged communities and health facilities.
In Maputo, Millennium bim also became involved in staging the children's musical theatre show O Gala Gala Matreco, put on by the TP50 collective, enabling children from various care and social support institutions to take part.
According to Rui Pedro, Chairman of the Executive Committee of Millennium bim, the intention is that “these initiatives will be moments of joy, inclusion and hope for many children in different parts of the country, especially for those who live in more delicate social circumstances. Celebrating International Children's Day is also remembering the collective responsibility we have to contribute to a more dignified future, full of opportunities, for the new generations”.
For Millennium bim, International Children's Day is an opportunity to reinforce the importance of protecting, including and developing children, contributing to building a more dignified and promising future for the new generations.
