Millennium bim, through its Social Responsibility programme “Mais Moçambique pra Mim”, on 29 August handed over kits of school supplies for 1,010 children at Marrocane Primary School, in the district of Ancuabe, Cabo Delgado province. This support forms part of the Bank’s Social Responsibility strategy, which includes initiatives to improve the teaching and learning conditions of children and which, in this case, took the form of the delivery of assorted school supplies, benefitting displaced children and victims of the humanitarian crisis in that part of the country.
For Millennium bim’s CEO, João Martins, “when we dedicate ourselves to providing access to quality education, we are building the foundations for a more prosperous country, so we must recognise education as a strategic and priority investment in all spheres of society”.
For his part, Carlos Almeida, National Coordinator of Helpo in Mozambique, welcomed this partnership, stating that “it is with great satisfaction that Helpo joins Millennium bim in promoting education, supporting a population that lacks everything, and it believes that hope and a commitment to education are a passport to a better and safer future”.
Millennium bim, as a banking institution committed to the economic and social development of Mozambique, has embraced the cause by supporting the reconstruction of Cabo Delgado province and by investing in improving the living conditions of displaced people in countless other initiatives.
