Mamas Lodge

Brooklyn Bradley, Marketing Director, in his own words

There are many ways to describe Mamas Lodge, but there are two words in particular that really represent our villa: authenticity and uniqueness.
Our lodge is on Inhaca Island, and you can go there with a group of friends or family, for a romantic getaway or even alone, if you feel the need to escape the bustle of everyday life, disconnect and enjoy nature.

The owner of this place has been dreaming up this space for more than 20 years, and his love of nature and the outdoors contributed greatly to the design of this unique property.

Our villa can accommodate up to 13 people at once (2 more if a sofa bed is placed in one of the rooms). We have 6 rooms, each different in its own way, with particular decoration, lighting or design touches. Guests can choose a room with a sea view and be completely surrounded by nature by staying in our treehouse suite. Mamas Lodge was built largely with wood found in the region and other local products.

Our unique, well-trained chef creates beautiful, tasty masterpieces that range between traditional flavours and modern offerings from international cuisine, always with a touch of exclusivity. There are also charming restaurants on the island, and, since we are a community, we want to showcase those in the area and promote local businesses, so we encourage guests to visit them.
Although our management suggests that visitors stay away from technology during their stay, so that they relax completely and enjoy nature, we have recently installed WiFi for those who need to work or want to watch content on Netflix.

We offer a variety of activities for our guests, such as diving, snorkelling, romantic dinners and exploration trips around the island, among many others.

Before the pandemic, Inhaca was a major tourist attraction, a place much sought after above all by South Africans who wanted a glamorous holiday not far from their country, and by people from Maputo, as our resort is only 40 km from the capital, by boat. The situation we are currently going through has put great pressure on our establishment, the island and the team, but we guarantee that our villa is always immaculate, ensuring that all rooms undergo a deep clean, and complies with all other safety and hygiene measures laid down by the competent authorities. We hope that in the coming times we can return to the occupancy we had before covid-19 and, with the experience we are gaining, we intend to keep improving our services and to be, within the next 5 years, one of the best places to visit in Mozambique.
