On 21 January, the Hotel Glória hosted the official launch of Miragem by Enid Nkini, at a ceremony marked by elegance, a strong institutional presence and a clear vision for the perfumery sector in Mozambique. The evening was designed as a sensory celebration and a public presentation of a project with national and international ambition.
Conceived as an intimate gathering, the event invited those present to awaken their senses and immerse themselves in the art of olfactory creation. Among institutional guests, partners, the media, friends and family, the presence of the Minister of Labour, Gender and Social Action, Ivete Alane, stood out; her participation lent the occasion special significance and symbolised recognition of Mozambican talent, creativity and innovation.
In her speech, the founder, Enid Nkini, presented the essence of the brand with conviction. “Today we present a vision to the world,” she said, underlining the scope of the project. Miragem was born of a personal dream turned into collective purpose: to assert that luxury can have African roots, a Mozambican soul and global ambition.
Each fragrance unveiled, Luen, Lakheku and Puku, was described as a translation of emotions, memories and identity. They are compositions created to envelop before they are even explained, inviting an experience in which the invisible is translated into presence, sophistication and authenticity. The name of the brand reinforces this sensory and symbolic dimension.
By choosing Mozambique as its starting point, Miragem makes a commitment to the country’s creative potential and to building references that raise the national name in the world of luxury. The founder also noted that the project represents an important milestone for the Luen Group and for the country, anticipating direct benefits for thousands of people, with an impact on the production, distribution and sales chain.
The ceremony was also attended by the Secretary of State for Industry, Custódia Paunde, and by representatives of various national directorates concerned with supporting the private sector, trade and industry. The institutional setting reinforced the importance of dialogue between private initiative and public policy in boosting the economy and valuing national creativity.
The atmosphere of the evening combined sophistication and closeness, in a register that reflected the brand’s positioning. Closing her address, Enid Nkini expressed gratitude to her team, partners, mentors, suppliers and family, stressing that the project opens the way to new stages.
With this launch, Miragem establishes itself as a solid proposition on the Mozambican perfumery scene. A project that translates identity into scent and that projects, from Maputo, a signature with global ambition.
