As part of the modernisation of its commercial network, BCI continues to invest in infrastructure that strengthens closeness to customers and provides better service conditions. It was in this context that the Bank opened, in July, the new Tete Chingodzi and Boane Branches, and reopened the Avenida de Angola Branch in Maputo.
These investments reflect the Bank's commitment to providing more modern, functional and technological spaces, offering better service conditions and keeping pace with the changing needs of customers and the development of the country.
TETE
In Tete, a province of strong economic dynamism and a strategic corridor for regional integration, the new premises of the BCI Chingodzi Branch were opened by the Provincial Governor, Domingos Viola, in the presence of BCI's Chairman of the Executive Committee, José Furtado, government authorities, business people, customers and representatives of civil society.
On the occasion, José Furtado said that the modernisation of the Branch represents "a step forward in the effort to strengthen access by the population and the local business community to banking and financial services", adding that "this reopening demonstrates the Bank's commitment to financial inclusion and to the province's economic development". For BCI's Chairman, the investment also reflects "a clear sign of the Bank's confidence in the economic potential and entrepreneurial capacity of the people of Tete", reaffirming that the province will continue to be a strategic partner for the country's growth.
On the occasion, Governor Domingos Viola said that the opening of the Branch "represents more than the opening of a physical space. It demonstrates the confidence of a major bank in the potential of our wonderful people and in our beautiful, welcoming province of Tete". Domingos Viola also challenged BCI to continue expanding access to financial services, combining the modernisation of its physical network with increasingly accessible digital solutions.
BOANE
A few days later, it was Boane's turn to celebrate a new chapter in its relationship with BCI. In a district undergoing rapid economic, agricultural and logistical transformation, the new branch was opened by the Governor of Maputo Province, Manuel Tule, also in the presence of José Furtado and various public and private bodies.
At the ceremony, BCI's Chairman stressed that the reopening "demonstrates the Bank's commitment to financial inclusion and to the district's economic development", adding that Boane "is establishing itself as a vital logistics, agricultural and regional integration hub". He also stressed that the new branch embodies "BCI's investment in innovation, closeness and excellence of service", offering families, entrepreneurs and businesses a more modern, digital and inclusive service.
For his part, Manuel Tule said that "we are not just opening another BCI building. We are celebrating a tangible milestone in the process of bringing people into the banking system, financial inclusion and, above all, the economic empowerment of our people", highlighting the importance of financial services closer to communities and their places of economic activity.
The commitment to modernisation also extended to the city of Maputo, with the reopening of the Avenida de Angola branch. During the ceremony, José Furtado urged the team to continue serving customers with professionalism, closeness and dedication, preserving the trust that distinguishes BCI and reinforcing the culture of excellence that characterises the institution.
The three openings reflect the same strategic vision: to invest in infrastructure that brings people closer together, simplifies access to financial services and keeps pace with the growth of the communities where the Bank is present.
In the year it celebrates 30 years of activity, BCI continues to affirm that the future is built with trust, innovation and closeness. Because each new branch is more than a bank counter: it is a presence that accompanies the growth of communities, drives opportunities and reinforces the Bank's lasting commitment to the development of Mozambique. BCI is From Here. It is Trustworthy.
