As part of the celebrations of its 30th anniversary, BCI carried out, throughout May, a set of initiatives with a strong social impact, taking the form of the delivery of furniture to educational institutions, health facilities and community projects in the city and province of Maputo. The initiatives benefited various institutions, including Incassane Secondary School and the Esperança Nursery in Katembe, in the Katembe Municipal District; Nhongonhana Secondary School, in the locality of Bobole; Polana Caniço General Hospital and the 1.º de Maio Health Centre, in the city of Maputo; and the Kunhimela Project, in Matola.

The furniture delivered, consisting of desks, chairs, cupboards, lockers, stools and chests of drawers, aims to significantly improve working and service conditions. In the health sector in particular, the additional equipment is an important contribution to improving the conditions in which patients are seen and the working environment of health professionals. The handover ceremonies took place at the beneficiary institutions themselves and were attended by representatives of the health and education sectors, municipal authorities, community leaders and Bank employees.

More than simple symbolic acts, the occasions were marked by emotion, gratitude and hope. In different places, heartfelt words of appreciation were heard, while children welcomed the visitors with smiles, songs and spontaneous displays of joy, making each handover even more special.

Representing the Municipality of Maputo, the Councillor for Health and Quality of Life, Alice de Abreu, highlighted the initiative's impact on the health system, stressing that BCI's gesture shows genuine concern for improving the quality of care, and is all the more symbolic for taking place in the context of International Nurses Day.

The Director of Polana Caniço General Hospital, Marino Marengue, also expressed his gratitude for the support, noting that the furniture delivered meets the institution's concrete needs and will help to improve patient care and the working conditions of the professionals.

In the schools, the impact was equally acknowledged. BCI representatives highlighted the continuing commitment to the well-being of communities and the essential role of education in the country's development. School heads, in turn, stressed that the donation is an important milestone, creating better conditions for teachers and pupils and promoting a more welcoming and motivating environment.

With these initiatives, BCI reinforces its identity as an institution that combines banking with a strong commitment to communities, promoting concrete actions that help improve people's quality of life.

In a month devoted to solidarity and closeness, the Bank shows once again that growing with communities is investing in the country's future. A future built today, with responsibility, inclusion and commitment. This is how BCI continues on its path: from here to the Future.
