More than 270 employees took part in the “Caminhada Daqui”, promoting health, unity and organisational culture in several provinces of the country
On Saturday, 10 May, Banco Comercial e de Investimentos (BCI) held the “Caminhada Daqui” (“Walk from Here”), a national initiative that mobilised employees from north to south of Mozambique, in support of health, well-being and internal cohesion. The Walk took place simultaneously in the cities of Maputo and Matola and in the provinces of Gaza, Sofala, Zambézia, Tete, Cabo Delgado and Niassa, bringing together more than 270 Employees in a moment of physical exercise, fellowship and celebration of team spirit.
In Maputo, the Mozambican capital, participants covered around 10 kilometres along the iconic Marginal Avenue, between the sunrise and the sparkle of the sea, starting and finishing at the Bank's Headquarters Building. With firm steps and infectious smiles, the Chairman of BCI's Executive Committee (CEO), Francisco Costa, walked side by side with the other members of the Executive Committee and Employees, dressed in orange, filling the streets with the energy and spirit of unity that characterise the BCI family.
“This Walk has a great purpose: to bring the BCI family together at a moment like this, promoting quality of life and encouraging healthy habits,” said the CEO. “BCI's history is made of journeys, challenges and resilience. And sport, like this Walk, is a good example to inspire us.”
The morning was marked by a lively and relaxed atmosphere, with aerobics sessions, coconut water handed out, hugs, smiles and a great deal of positive energy. The event strengthened the bonds between Employees and highlighted the value of physical health as an essential component of overall well-being.
“We organised this Walk nationwide and the turnout was good. We walked together from north to south of the country,” said Paula Boca, Central Director of BCI's People, Talent and Culture Department.
More than a simple sporting activity, the “Caminhada Daqui” proved to be a moment of personal and collective strengthening, promoting integration, emotional balance and pride in belonging to the BCI family.
One of the Employees present shared her experience: “the Walk was both enriching and relaxing. It allowed us to put healthy practices into action to keep fit in body and mind.”
With this initiative, BCI reaffirms its commitment to the well-being of its Employees, creating spaces for sharing, health and motivation. Anticipation now turns to the next edition, already eagerly awaited.
