Baía Mall, which has delighted countless visitors since its opening, celebrated six years full of magic, promotions, prizes and unforgettable moments. This important milestone was marked by presenting trophies to the tenants who have completed five years of partnership: Farmácia Ronda, Pets, Emose, Oh Baby, Steers and Debonairs, as well as Home Center, which has been in the Centre for six years. The celebration also included the competition “It's Baía Mall's birthday, but the gifts are yours”, which saw the active participation of a large number of customers. From 27 May to 7 June, a competition was held that rewarded customers with attractive prizes, together with the 2nd Sidewalk Sale of 2024. Those eligible were customers who placed in the lucky box receipts for purchases of 1,000 meticais or more made in any shop in the shopping centre. The prizes included household appliances and other valuable items, further heightening visitors' excitement.
On 1 June, the exhibition “Museums will be with us on Children's Day” was inaugurated, remaining open until 16 June. This event gave children a unique opportunity to explore museum exhibits, immersing themselves in a world of discovery and learning. The exhibition, as well as being educational, was enriched with gifts and a snack full of treats, highlighting the importance of healthy habits and the continuous acquisition of knowledge. The children took part in guided tours, receiving detailed explanations from the representatives of each museum about the history of the country.
As they interacted and answered questions, they were rewarded with presents, reinforcing the message that good nutrition and the pursuit of knowledge are fundamental. Of the 40 participating children, 20 were from the Liceu Alvorada school, and the other 20 were selected through social media. Each museum had an 8 m² space in the shopping centre's corridor, allowing for an organised and attractive presentation. The participants were the Art Museum, the National Library, the National Currency Museum, the CFM Museum, the Fortress and the Photography Museum, each contributing unique elements to the exhibition. The initiative underlined the importance of museums in education and culture, especially for younger generations.
With six years of existence, Baía Mall has stood out, from the outset, not only as a shopping centre, but also as a meeting place and a space for enriching experiences for families. Celebrating its anniversary together with International Children's Day reinforces its commitment to providing unforgettable moments and supporting the cultural and educational development of the community.
