Absa Bank recently supported a fashion show by designer Shaazia Adam and visual artist Butcheca, in a charity event that took place at Restaurante Zambi, in the country’s capital. The aim of the event was to raise funds to be converted into non-perishable foodstuffs for the Arco-íris Orphanage.
For this event, Shaazia and Butcheca combined fashion, art and solidarity, creating and presenting exclusive pieces for children that displayed the designer’s originality, innovation and sophistication.
Social responsibility has been one of Absa’s fundamental pillars, as noted by Ema Soares, Head of Events, Sponsorship and Citizenship at Absa Bank Moçambique, who said: “We have been continually supporting initiatives that bring a positive impact to the communities in which we operate. By being partners and collaborating with this initiative, we are investing, on the one hand, in the sustainable development of children, in particular those at the Arco-íris orphanage, and, on the other, in the formation of a fairer and more inclusive society”.
This is yet another initiative in which the Bank reiterates its commitment to promoting and investing in Mozambican culture through citizenship initiatives that represent its Africanness.
