Bee causes postponement of flight between Maputo and Luanda
A bee entering one of the dynamic pressure sensing tubes caused the flight to be postponed for technical reasons.
TAAG Angola Airlines reported on Friday that flight DT 582 from Maputo to Luanda, scheduled for Wednesday, had been postponed for technical reasons caused by a bee entering one of the dynamic pressure sensing tubes.
The press release states that during take-off procedures a discrepancy was detected between the flight parameter readings on the captain’s and co-pilot’s instruments, forcing the crew to abort take-off shortly before lift-off.
According to the statement, passengers disembarked safely and were accommodated in a hotel, while the aircraft was handed over to maintenance services for the necessary repairs.
"After the appropriate technical intervention, the aircraft was declared airworthy and has already completed its return flight to Luanda in complete safety," the statement says. The national airline regrets the incident and the inconvenience caused to passengers.
