On the inspiring afternoon of 10 May, the lights of the conference hall at the Hotel Rovuma in Maputo came on to welcome a historic milestone in Mozambican communication, marketing and public relations. The first edition of the event “TOP 30 Most Influential Women in Communication, Marketing and Public Relations in Mozambique” was being celebrated, a pioneering initiative organised by the COMARP Group and various partners, which not only recognised the exceptional talent of thirty remarkable women in these sectors, but also underlined the growing importance of female leadership in the social and professional fabric of the country.

The event unfolded in a unique atmosphere, where everything was designed to celebrate the achievements of these extraordinary women. Visionary leaders, bold innovators and tireless strategists were celebrated before an audience made up of colleagues, family members and various communication enthusiasts, all eager to witness this unique moment.

During the event, an enriching discussion session was held under the theme “How to become a successful woman in communication, marketing and public relations”. This forum featured prominent figures from the sector, including Christine Ramela, Director of Corporate Social Responsibility at Millennium bim bank; Jónia Presado, Head of Marketing Communications & PR at MultiChoice Mozambique; and Felícia Nhama, Coordinator of Corporate Communication and Social Responsibility at Tmcel Moçambique. The moderator was the communicator Inês da Ressurreição Pereira, who led the session masterfully, facilitating an exchange of ideas that was both enlightening and motivating. One of the highlights of the event was, without doubt, the interaction with the audience, who had the opportunity to ask incisive and pertinent questions about the challenges and opportunities in the communications sector in Mozambique. This open dialogue underlined the importance of sharing knowledge and experience for the continued and inclusive growth of the industry.

The celebration was also enlivened by a special cultural moment, with a performance by the talented Ingrid Salomão, whose wonderful voice added an artistic dimension to the event, reinforcing the link between culture and communication.

This award, although symbolic, is a vital recognition for the women who have been true agents of change in the communication, marketing and public relations sector in Mozambique. The hope is that this initiative will continue to grow and inspire more women to reach their full potential, contributing to an increasingly dynamic and inclusive sector.

With the success of this first edition, expectations for the coming years are high. The event not only recognised the merit of these remarkable women, but also cemented the promise to continue celebrating and inspiring female leadership in communication in Mozambique. The community eagerly awaits the next opportunity to come together and celebrate the achievements of the women who are at the forefront of innovation and success in this vibrant sector.

The list is not in order of importance. Each name represents an equally valuable contribution deserving of recognition.
