Today I bring you a (re)visit to the daily life of Maputo that I recorded in 2015.

I had arrived in the city only a few months earlier and had had little time to get to know it. One Sunday, I decided simply to observe it from my bedroom window. From that contemplation a project was born: Janela Indiscreta.

The project stayed shut away in a drawer for five years, until, in 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, it finally found its way into the light of day, in a black-and-white exhibition.

More than ten years have passed since these photographs were taken. And yet, on revisiting them, everyday life seems to have been suspended in time, as if these images had been made today.
